Logan (he/they) is a queer environmental theatre maker, performer, puppeteer, educator, musician, writer, sound designer, and creator of exhaustive lists- based in the Moolipchugechk region of Mi’kma’ki (colonially known as Herring Cove, Nova Scotia).

Most recently they have toured across North America with The Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia as a puppeteer performing Todd Parr’s “It’s Okay to be Different”, wrote/performed in the online radio storytelling experience- ‘program sound.fm”, toured their show “Hippoposthumous” to Calgary and Canmore, Alberta, and directed Robyn Vivian’s play “Deeper” at OutFest 2024 where it too home the Audience Choice Award.

They are the Artistic Director of The Unnatural Disaster Theatre Co and are currently working on several upcoming projects, including a workshop production of a new show, “Bottom Dwellers: A Deep Sea Musical” created with support from the Canadian Ocean Literacy Coalition and premiering at Eastern Front’s Stages Festival in June 2024 AND “Autobiographical Fiction” an improvised solo show with Olivier Blais, premiering as a part of the 2024 Halifax Fringe Festival.

Logan is a lover of collaborative creation/devising, site specific theatre, and puppetry/mask! When not in a theatre they can often be found exploring caves or playing their banjolele (It’s exactly what it sounds like and it is glorious)!

Katherine Norris (she/her) is a performer based in K’jipuktuk/Halifax. Raised in Dartmouth, she trained in music and performance until moving to Toronto and graduating from Randolph College for the Performing Arts.

Her recent credits include: Elf the Musical, Alice in Pantoland (Neptune); Hippoposthumous (Atlantic Summer tour 2022/Halifax Fringe 2021); Beauty and the Beast, Anne of Green Gables (Lower Ossington Theatre).

MacKenzie Cornfield (she/her) is an emerging theatre and video artist based in K'jipuktuk/Halifax, with a focus in projection design for live performance. Since graduating from the Fountain School of Performing Arts, MacKenzie has been so grateful to find herself in an artistic field where she can explore multidisciplinary design and develop technical skills to tell thoughtful stories. Her creative approach is greatly informed by her appreciation of music, mindfulness, and mixed media art. Laura (she/they) is a queer actor, artist, designer, writer, sewist, and singer living in K'jipuktuk/Halifax, the unceded ancestral home of the Mi'kmaq people, with her two cats and many hats.

Since moving to the city Laura has been lucky enough to work with some truly incredible artists and creatives. Recent acting credits include When Will You Be Well Again?, Hosanna, and Doubt. They have also been developing their skills in design and prop making, and was recently a member of the Villain's Theatre design team on their production of Deepwater. The 2024 recipient of the Wes Daniels Design Award, Laura aims to build a life in and around the theatre, focused on creating beautiful stories with their fellow artists.

In her spare time Laura puts a lot of energy into baking bread, making friends with the neighbourhood crows, and trying desperately to turn her tiny balcony into a garden. She is happy to report that, so far, the tomato seedlings are thriving.

A software developer by profession, Saurabh (he/him/his) brings a rich blend of technical expertise and artistic talent to the vibrant city of Halifax (Kjipuktuk), Nova Scotia. Originally hailing from India, Saurabh's passion for the arts shines through his diverse hobbies, including singing, dancing, vocal acting, and cooking. With a background steeped in the cultural tradition of street theatre, Saurabh has both written and performed in numerous street plays, showcasing a unique ability to connect with audiences through compelling narratives and dynamic performances. His transition to stage shows has further highlighted his versatility and dedication to the craft of acting. As an Indian artist in Canada, Saurabh continues to explore and share his cultural heritage through performance, making significant contributions to the local arts scene in Halifax (Kjipuktuk). His multifaceted talent and commitment to storytelling make Saurabh a distinctive and inspiring figure in the community.

Ellie (EJ) Weise (they/she) is a marine biologist and theatre artist currently residing in K’jipuktuk. Originally from Michigan, their theatre career has included musicals, Ancient Greek and Shakespearian classics, newer works, and podcasts. Her most recent roles include Emily in Deeper at Page1 Theatre’s OutFest and the Halifax Fringe Festival, Marc Antony in Julius Caesar and Eurydice in the Oedipus Cycle, both with the Curtainless Theatre in Lansing, MI. They currently write and host a science comedy podcast titled 'An Everyday Dissection.' They have a Master’s degree in Fisheries and Wildlife and a BSc in Genomics and Molecular Genetics, both from Michigan State University. They are currently a PhD candidate at Dalhousie working on genomic tools to help understand and evaluate exploited fish populations so that they can be fished sustainably. She hopes to someday understand their own genderfluidity and biromanticism as much as she understands the genomes of sea lamprey.
